Assistant vs Autopilot
Understand approval-first drafting versus hands-off publishing, and when to switch modes.
auto-social.io offers two ways to work. Both use the same AI generation tools and the same networks. The difference is who decides when content goes live.
Assistant mode (recommended to start)
In Assistant mode, the AI prepares drafts for your review.
What happens:
- You describe what you want in chat.
- The assistant generates copy and media.
- You edit, refine, or regenerate.
- You approve, then publish or schedule.
Nothing goes live without your say-so. Use Assistant when:
- You are learning the product.
- Brand voice and compliance matter on every post.
- You want a drafting copilote, not full automation.
- You prefer to batch-review before a campaign launches.
You can keep posts as drafts, schedule them yourself, or publish immediately after approval.
Autopilot mode (optional, opt-in)
Autopilot is for hands-off publishing when you are ready.
What happens:
- Your networks are connected.
- You set a cadence and guidance (topics, tone, goals).
- Content is generated on that schedule.
- Posts publish automatically according to your settings.
Use Autopilot when:
- You already trust the drafts Assistant produced for your brand.
- You want consistent posting without daily review.
- You can still check results and adjust guidance over time.
Automatic publishing is opt-in. You can start with approval-only and switch later.

Can I prepare posts without publishing automatically?
Yes. Treat auto-social as a drafting copilote: generate copy and media, refine the post, keep it as a draft or schedule it yourself. Autopilot is optional.
Do I keep control over what gets published?
Yes. In Assistant mode, every draft stays under your control. Autopilot is available when you want hands-off publishing later. You choose when (or whether) to enable it.
Practical advice
- Start in Assistant for the first days or weeks.
- Save examples of posts you liked. Reuse that style in future prompts (“same tone as last week’s launch post”).
- Turn on Autopilot only for networks and topics you are comfortable automating.
- You can always return to Assistant-style review if Autopilot needs a pause.
