Social accounts

Connect Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts, including how Facebook Login and Instagram Login differ.

Open Social accounts to connect networks so you can publish or schedule from auto-social.io.

Facebook vs Instagram (Meta)

Meta offers two login paths. We use both so you can connect the way that matches your setup.

Connect Facebook

Uses Facebook Login.

  • Imports the Facebook Pages you manage.
  • If a Page is linked to an Instagram professional account, that Instagram account is imported automatically and appears on the Instagram card (badge: via Facebook).
  • If a Page requires Page Publishing Authorization (PPA), grant it in Meta before publishing to the linked Instagram account.

Connect Instagram

Uses Instagram Login.

  • Imports one professional Instagram account (Creator or Business) per connection. Connect again to add another.
  • No Facebook Page required for this button.
  • Publishes with an Instagram user token on Meta’s Instagram Graph host.

Personal Instagram accounts

Meta’s publishing API does not support personal Instagram accounts. That is a Meta rule, not a product limit.

Switching to a professional account is free and reversible:

  1. In the Instagram app: Profile → Settings and activity → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
  2. Choose Creator or Business.
  3. Come back to Social accounts and connect.

Official steps: Set up a professional Instagram account.

Note: if your personal account is private, switching to professional makes it public.

Other networks

You can also connect LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, and YouTube from the same page. We never ask for social passwords; each network uses its own secure sign-in.
